Hi! I’m Maike Oatley, Founder And Designer of Cat Collage Club.

Like you, I love journaling. I love to play with stickers, patterned papers, envelopes, journaling cards, tip-ins, and ephemera.

To me, journaling can only be improved by combining it with my love for cats.

Cats remind me to live a joyful life:

• They go after what they want.

• They don’t let themselves be hurried.

• They enjoy good company, especially if it includes cuddles.

• They find themselves a spot in the sun.

And they are just so darn cute and beautiful.

I fell in love with the quiet comfort of a cat companion when my mom and I raised an orphaned, 1-day-old kitten.

I would build Mr. Kitten a bed inside the drawer of my desk, in which he would sleep while I worked on illustration assignments for college. When he was grown up he’d still join me for art and craft sessions, though he wouldn’t necessarily let me do so quite so peacefully.

Mr. Kitten still lives a happy life with my parents, but I miss having him around.  As I currently can’t have a cat, I design cat-themed journal printables to have cats around me when I craft. And to have lots and lots of cats in my journal.
